About the Opportunity

This position is suited to ILS professional/practitioner and or mechanical / electrical tradespeople with 8-10 years of hands-on experience maintaining complex equipment in heavy industry, mining or shipbuilding.

As an ILS Technical Officer, you will apply your practical maintenance expertise to analyse, document and improve the supportability, reliability, and sustainability of submarine systems and equipment throughout their lifecycle.

While prior ILS experience is highly regarded, it is not essential. ASC will provide training for the successful candidate who brings strong technical insight, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and upkeep of ILS products, processes, tools, and systems to support logistic configuration, maintenance, and product baselines
  • Apply sustainment, configuration, and asset management principles to ensure system reliability and availability
  • Utilise Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) while performing ILS duties
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Maintenance, and Project Teams to optimise equipment supportability
  • Manage time effectively and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines in a dynamic and high-performing environment

About you

  • Obtained a Trade or Advanced Trade Certificate with 8-10 years experience
  • Extensive maintenance and technical background in heavy industry, mining or shipbuilding
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, data and engineering standards
  • Willingness to learn and apply ILS principles in a defence context

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
