About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Manager to join the team in Adelaide, South Australia.  This Leadership role will make a significant contribution the SSN-AUKUS Program by working with Subject Matter Experts to define the capability and requirements for the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY).

As our Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the Infrastructure Functional Requirements (IFR) as an input to the design and construction of the NPSCY. You will also be responsible for assuring the compliance of the design and construction of the NPSCY against the IFR. To deliver this outcome, you will be leading a team of infrastructure specialists to ensure safe and modern submarine construction facilities are delivered for building and commissioning the SSN-AUKUS.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • This role will work in a complex environment and will lead engagement with many internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to; Australian Submarine Agency, Australian Naval Infrastructure, BAE Systems and end users (e.g. Operations, ICT, Security, Supply Chain, SSN commissioning and nuclear specialists).
  • Your areas of accountability will be IFR development, Design and Construction Assurance, Stakeholder Management along with relevant infrastructure aspects of Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards. 
  • You will deliver IFR including technical drawings, data, and written requirements across multiple disciplines.
  • You will lead the planning and execution strategy for the assurance of the SCY design and construction, and you will work within constraints relating to cost, schedule, and capability.

 

About You 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management
  • 15+ years’ experience delivering technical projects within the industrial manufacturing or construction industry
  • Specific experience within the Defence Shipbuilding Industry will be highly regarded
  • Experience project managing infrastructure design and construction work
  • Experience leading a team of technical personnel in complex and unique industrial environments
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and ‘requirements management’ principles
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Proven experience working with WHS&E legislation, regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice
  • Experience with Defence industry manuals and guidelines will be highly regarded.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Able to manage ambiguity in complex environments and visualise solutions
  • Exceptional and effective time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to consistently and positively manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent teamwork and experience working in and across multidisciplinary teams
  • Efficient and effective reporting and communication skills
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Proven negotiation skills and able to engage professionally and constructively with complex stakeholders
  • Ability to mentor team members.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
