An exciting career awaits you at ASC, Australia's submarine company - the sustainer of Australia's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines in the AUKUS partnership. To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking skilled individuals to undertake long-term assignment in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.  

Placements will be approximately 18 - 24 months in duration.

 

Responsibilities 

As a Learning and Development Specialist you will:

  • Coordinate training programs and support personnel in Pearl Harbor
  • Act as primary contact for trainees, providing guidance and escalation
  • Monitor attendance, progress and completion against plans
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Build relationships with trainees and supervisors to support engagement
  • Address performance, disengagement and onboarding needs
  • Maintain accurate training records and workforce data
  • Report on progress, completion rates and risks
  • Analyse trends and provide insights for improvement
  • Provide visibility of training pipeline and issues to leadership
  • Engage with supervisors, managers, production teams and providers
  • Represent L&D and collaborate with broader team
  • Ensure compliance with WHS and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain auditable records and align training with standards

 

Eligibility Criteria 

The successful applicant must possess: 

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or successor) or equivalent experience
  • Trade qualification (Australian recognised) in a relevant discipline (e.g. mechanical, electrical, fabrication, marine) - desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in a Learning & Development, training coordination or workforce capability role
  • Proven experience supporting training programs within a technical, production or industrial environment
  • Strong experience tracking, reporting and analysing training data and outcomes
  • Australian Citizenship 
  • An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance  

 

Additional Details

At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines at HMAS Stirling.

Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying. 

 

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
