About the Opportunity 

As a Project Coordinator within the MCS Business Performance team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, and business resilience. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Projects in Osborne, SA, you will work closely with multiple project-leads across the department, contributing to the planning, execution, and completion of a diverse range of projects. These may span from major docked maintenance availabilities to capability upgrades and process improvement initiatives. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support the delivery of strategic programs led by the MCS Strategy/Planning Manager, Consultant Panel Manager, and P24 Program Manager.  
  • Assist in developing project plans that align with safety, cost-effectiveness, and operational objectives.  
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Planning, Production, Supply Chain, PMO, People & Culture, Commercial, Procurement, and Finance.  
  • Manage scopes of work and ensure delivery of work packages in line with contractual and operational requirements.  
  • Identify and monitor project risks, supporting mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.  
  • Prepare and collate reports, and facilitate weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reviews.  
  • Track project performance, analyse variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain project alignment.  
  • Ensure readiness of work scopes, including material availability and planning deliverables, escalating issues as needed. 

 About You 

  • Proven experience in project coordination or management, ideally within a technical or strategic delivery environment.  
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools, with sound analytical and problem-solving capabilities.  
  • Familiarity with project governance, procurement, contract management, and risk management practices.  
  • A proactive and outcome-focused mindset, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive results.  
  • A technical trade background or experience in maintenance or capability upgrade projects is desirable. 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
