ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

ASC is seeking a full time Senior Community and Social Performance Advisor, who will play a key role in delivering our social licence strategies, based at Henderson, Western Australia. Operating as part of the broader Stakeholder Relations team across WA and SA, you will coordinate and contribute to engagement initiatives that build trust, foster partnerships, and create meaningful outcomes for local communities, Traditional Owners, and industry stakeholders.

This role offers variety and impact, working closely with the Social Performance Manager and broader Stakeholder Relations team to co-design programs that strengthen ASC’s social licence and support our national corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives. If you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy building relationships that make a difference, this is an opportunity to shape ASC’s community engagement journey. Please note, this role may include some out of hours and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Implement ASC’s social licence strategies, aligned with corporate and CSR objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, Traditional Owners, and key stakeholders
  • Facilitate engagement events and collaborative initiatives with industry and government bodies
  • Support the development of frameworks and policies for governance and compliance
  • Provide input into risk management and continuous improvement processes
  • Act as a trusted representative of ASC in the WA community

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in social impact, community engagement, or stakeholder relations
  • Demonstrated experience delivering social licence strategies and engaging diverse stakeholders
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent ASC confidently in community settings
  • Cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Adaptability and resilience in dynamic environments, with a consultative and solution-focused approach
  • Comfortable attending community engagement activities and events which may be outside standard hours
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Community Development, Sustainability, Public Policy, or related field (preferred)
  • IAP2 certification (desirable)

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and baseline Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
