About the Opportunity

The Superintendent - Tool Crib Operations will manage the tool crib for the SSN-AUKUS submarine build program, ensuring tools and equipment are available, maintained, and efficiently distributed. Key responsibilities include; developing and implementing tool management strategies and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires the setting-up (tool tracking, layouts, etc.) and management of the tool stores and staff while collaborating with the Operations Team to develop a list of required equipment and tooling.

The role involves working with the Infrastructure Team to integrate equipment into facility layouts, ensuring safety, practicality, and compliance with Australian regulations. The Superintendent will also contribute to strategies for equipment delivery, storage, commissioning, maintenance, and consumables supply.

This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with various departments to understand tool requirements 
  • Identify tooling needs, manage tool requests and ensure timely distribution to support project timelines
  • Collaborative engagement with IPT groups supporting the establishment of systems, process and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tool inventory records, ensuring all tools are available and in good condition.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and monitor tool usage and address any issues identified. 
  • Identify and implement improvements in tool crib operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ongoing analysis of operations, identify areas for improvement and implement changes to streamline processes and monitor impact of improvements and adjust as needed.

 

About you 

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management or Inventory Management or equivalent experience in tool crib operations. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tool crib operations or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated experience in tool crib or supply chain leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of facility drawings to ensure alignment with spatial allocation, process flows and services.
  • Proven experience in managing tool inventory and maintenance processes. 
  • Proven ability to effectively and positively manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
