ASC is Australia’s submarine company. From sustaining the Collins Class fleet and delivering its Life of Type Extension to helping build Australia’s future nuclear-powered submarines, we play a critical role in the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history. Our work is meaningful, challenging and directly contributes to Australia's national security, offering the opportunity to grow your career, enjoy genuine flexibility and be part of something bigger than yourself.

About the role

The Knowledge Transfer Specialist will equip ASC to build and sustain the capability required to support the future SSN Sustainment Program. Through the successful transfer of critical knowledge, skills, processes and technologies, this role helps turn international expertise into enduring operational capability across the program.

Based in Perth, WA, this role is focused on enabling capability transfer rather than being the technical expert, helping ASC build sustainable operational capability and workforce readiness for the future.

What you'll be doing

  • Assess capability gaps and determine the knowledge, skills, processes and technologies required to support future operational demands.
  • Develop and maintain Transfer of Technology plans, frameworks, methodologies and controlled documentation that enable the successful transfer and sustainment of critical capabilities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and international partners to define, validate and coordinate technology and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Monitor and report on capability transfer progress, workforce readiness and capability maturity, providing insights and recommendations to support program outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Transfer of Technology processes, tools and practices to strengthen capability development and operational readiness.

About you

You enjoy working in complex technical environments, helping organisations build and sustain critical capability through the effective transfer of knowledge and expertise. You've supported knowledge transfer, capability development or Transfer of Technology initiatives and are comfortable engaging a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes. You bring a structured and analytical approach, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical plans that deliver lasting capability outcomes.

You'll have:

  • Experience supporting Transfer of Technology (ToT), knowledge transfer or capability development initiatives within complex engineering, sustainment, Defence or industrial environments.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience assessing capability gaps, identifying requirements and developing practical improvement plans.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders, facilitate workshops and build effective working relationships across diverse teams.
  • Sound understanding of project and program delivery principles, including planning, scheduling, risk management and dependency coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical or operational concepts into clear recommendations and actionable outcomes.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.

To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.
