About the Opportunity

As the Project Manager - STAC Readiness Review, you will report directly to and support the Senior Project Manager. You will play a key role in delivering mobilisation and operational readiness outcomes for the Skills & Training Academy Campus as part of the SSN AUKUS Program. Leading a complex, high-profile workstream, you will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure critical readiness milestones are achieved. This is an opportunity to drive strategic delivery outcomes that directly support the development of Australia's future submarine workforce capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of STAC (Skills & Training Academy) readiness review and mobilisation activities, ensuring key milestones, deliverables and acceptance criteria are achieved.
• Develop, maintain and execute integrated project schedules, readiness plans and delivery frameworks across multiple workstreams, providing guidance and support to Project Coordinators to ensure effective delivery outcomes.
• Coordinate activities across workforce, learning and development, infrastructure, ICT, education providers and industry partners to support academy mobilisation.
• Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders including ASC, BAE Systems, the ASA (Australian Submarine Agency), education providers and industry partners.
• Monitor and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and critical path activities, implementing mitigation strategies to maintain delivery outcomes.
• Prepare high-quality project reporting, governance documentation, briefings and status updates to support informed decision-making.
• Lead campus operational readiness and mobilisation planning, ensuring facilities, systems and resources are prepared for learner commencement and ongoing operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned and best-practice project management approaches to enhance readiness and delivery performance.
• Provide guidance and support to Project Coordinators.

This is a full-time position based in Adelaide, South Australia.

About you 

• Tertiary qualifications in a technical, business or project management discipline, or equivalent experience in a complex program environment.
• Proven experience leading complex projects from planning through to delivery in large, multifaceted environments.
• Strong project management expertise, including scheduling, reporting, risk management and operational readiness activities.
• Experience managing multiple dependencies and coordinating outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Background supporting workforce development, training, education, facilities, infrastructure or capability-based projects.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions while balancing risk, schedule, operational requirements and stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Highly organised and resilient, with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage competing priorities autonomously.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
