About the Opportunity

The Senior Project Cost Analyst/Controller will play a critical role in delivering cost control, forecasting, Earned Value Management (EVM) and project performance reporting across a major maintenance availability. Supporting a designated project area, you will partner with Project Managers, Control Account Managers (CAMs) and key stakeholders to provide accurate analysis, insights and recommendations that drive project performance and successful delivery outcomes.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Controls or Cost Controls professional to further develop their expertise within a complex defence program environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver project cost control, forecasting and Earned Value Management (EVM) activities for a major maintenance availability, supporting project performance and successful delivery outcomes
  • Prepare and maintain EVM and project performance reports, providing meaningful analysis and insights on cost, schedule and forecast performance
  • Analyse project data, identify emerging trends, variances and risks, and support the development of corrective actions and mitigation strategies
  • Partner with Project Managers, Control Account Managers (CAMs) and other stakeholders to provide trusted advice on cost, schedule and project performance
  • Gather, validate and analyse cost, progress and forecast information from multiple business systems to ensure the accuracy and integrity of project controls reporting
  • Promote project controls best practice by supporting the effective application of EVM processes, baseline change management and performance measurement frameworks
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting, data quality, project controls processes and stakeholder decision-making

About you 

  • Qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • 4+ years' experience within Project Controls, Cost Control, Cost Management or a project delivery environment
  • Strong Earned Value Management (EVM) experience, including exposure to the Australian standard earned value management AS4817:2006, cost and schedule performance analysis, forecasting and variance management
  • Demonstrated expertise in project cost control, forecasting, variance analysis and performance reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse, interpret and present complex project data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across project teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the agility to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic project environment

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
