ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Knowledge Transfer Specialist to play a pivotal role in facilitating the transfer of knowledge and technology between our business and international partners. Reporting to the Transfer of Technology Training Manager, you will develop and implement frameworks and plans that align with our strategic objectives. This role requires strong collaboration across functions and international teams to ensure successful knowledge transfer within the AUKUS partnership context.

A degree of flexibility is required in working hours to support the engagement with  our international partner organisations.

Some interstate and international travel will be required periodically with time away from home unlikely to exceed three weeks for international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for gap analysis processes, frameworks, and templates across all functions.
  • Manage and maintain the GAP toolkit and facilitate its use within functional teams.
  • Develop and implement knowledge transfer processes and frameworks aligned with business strategy.
  • Proactively manage Transfer of Technology (ToT) programs in line with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of training programs with relevant legislation and company standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ToT matters for functional leads and international partners.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and proactively manage risk within the program

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or high-level Trades Management or sufficient experience in a similar role such that you would be considered ‘qualified by experience’.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in shipbuilding, preferably first-of-class projects.
  • Deep understanding of competency and progression matrices within maritime design and build processes.
  • Proven experience in conducting end-to-end gap analysis and managing complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multicultural defence environments.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and experience in change management.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance up to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.

  • Up to 10 days additional leave every year so you can rest and recharge.
