About the Opportunity

The Trade Planning Team Lead coordinates and supervises the generation and preparation of maintenance task work-packs iaw business compliance and readiness requirements, pertaining to Collins Class Submarine Mechanical System and Fabrication disciplines. This critical role is a leadership position within the Operations Planning Team reporting to the Trade Planning Manager and based in Henderson, WA.

Central to this role is the ability to coach and mentor team members, engage with stakeholders across the business and provide direct support to allocated maintenance activities in order to deliver performance outcomes and continuous improvements in line with business commitments, objectives, plans, processes and routines. This role is responsible for the coordination of allocated resources across projects in an efficient manner, supervision, coaching and mentoring to allocated work group.

 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Supervision and coordination of Trade Planners to ensure agreed work pack schedules are maintained for Production and Projects in line with safely on time requirements.
  • Assist the Trade Planning Manager to resolve general issues, conflicts in priorities and the revision of work schedules to accommodate customer requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders and provide direct support to allocated maintenance activities;
  • Leadership, coaching and mentoring to allocated team members to ensure corporate and departmental processes, routines and behavioural standards are met and executed in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.
  • Prepare work packs including associated documents covering technical issues requiring resolution, report generation, raising/reviewing of maintenance affiliated documentation

 Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Trade certificate or equivalent engineering qualifications in a Mechanical discipline, with a minimum of seven years’ experience, with exposure to the areas of Maintenance, Planning, scheduling and estimating.
  • Demonstrated competence with Collins Class SIMS (Ships Information Management Systems) work package generation tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex, technical issues to a range of audiences and individuals.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills- written, verbal and interpersonal and across multiple levels.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity (desirable).
  • Ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines within a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, alignment and accuracy of corporate data and information systems.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
