About the Opportunity

The Operations Planning Team is a key capability area within the Operations Planning department. The core purpose of the Operations Planning Team is to provide world class planning services and support to ASC and broader Submarine Enterprise. The Planning Team also manages external stakeholder relationships (e.g. Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, Raytheon, THALES etc.) in support of Maintenance Activity work package generation, execution and coordination and associated technical information to the wider CCSM Enterprise.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract.

 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Work Package Planning Team Lead, the Work Package Planner provides services and support to dedicated maintenance projects in support of team commitments as allocated by the Work Package Planning Team Lead. The primary purposes of the role are to manage development and changes to the approved project work scope in a compliant and accurate manner, utilising ASC corporate systems and processes.

Expectations of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination and ongoing development of Maintenance Availability Work Packages (MAWP) iaw allocated project end to end milestones.
  • Ensure all Work Package Planning services are delivered in accordance with the End-to-End process/milestone dates (or better) and are provided in a format required by downstream customers.
  • Develop, coordinate and ensure accurate Maintenance Change Proposals and Unscheduled Corrective Maintenance tasks for allocated projects as required.
  • Conduct impact assessments to Maintenance Availability Work Packages (MAWP) as a result of integrating additional work scope requested by the project teams.
  • Continuous improvement and adherence to the Submarine Planning Corporate Management System processes, internal work instructions and other processes required by the Project Management Plan.
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to other departments pertaining to the allocated project MAWP. Act as point of contact between the Project Team and the Planning Team for allocated maintenance activity.

 

About you

  • Trade qualified or other relevant technical qualification, Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Engineering desirable.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience with work order generation, coordination and closeout within a project or planning environment.
  • Demonstrated corporate data base and ERP system knowledge and skills utilised to interrogate corporate tools and data bases in support of work package generation, execution and closeout.
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills - written, verbal, interpersonal and across multiple levels.
  • High level problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, alignment and accuracy of corporate data and information systems.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
