About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Trade Planning Team Lead, the Assistant Trade Planner plays a key role in supporting maintenance planning activities to ensure trade personnel can safely and efficiently execute work onboard submarines and within workshop environments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate work orders, MCRs and work packs (where applicable) in line with business priorities and production readiness requirements.
  • Ensure work orders and planning documentation are accurate, compliant, and ready for execution, enabling work to be completed right the first time.
  • Maintain accurate planning system data and support effective resource and material demand planning.
  • Provide proactive support across Trade, Work Package and Forward Planning teams to ensure planning commitments are met on time.
  • Prioritise workload effectively and collaborate with stakeholders to manage competing deadlines and commitments.
  • Deliver high-quality planning support with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and without rework.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC and RAN processes, policies, procedures and workflows to support safe and compliant operations.

 

About you

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic Engineering Drawings
  • Organisational ability and Technical Research skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production or Stores (Supply) based environment.    
  • Exposure to one or more of the following disciplines (Production, Production Control, Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Estimating, Supply / Contract Administration and Project Management)

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role may require an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
