About the Opportunity

The Senior Commercial Advisor provides commercial advice, guidance and capability to the Multi Class Sustainment (MCS) Program in accordance with ASC’s vision and strategy that ultimately results in improving the commercial value of ASC. The Senior Commercial Advisor will engage with various stakeholders across the business in order to support delivery of Commercial program outcomes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial advice and guidance to the business regarding contractual obligations under the In-Service Support Contract (ISSC) and related contracts.
  • Prepare commercial documents for submission to the CoA including quotations, contractual communications, claims and disputes.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts related to ISSC including leases, licences and training services.
  • Contract management including the development, negotiations and execution of contract change proposals,
  • Assess, analyse, evaluate and agree the commercial impact of changes under the ISSC.
  • Support the ISSC contract reviews and the ISSC contract renewal negotiations at the end of each Performance Period.
  • Draft and review correspondence to the CoA.
  • Provide commercial advice regarding subcontract compliance to ISSC.

 

About you

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, commerce, engineering, other relevant degree, or equivalent post graduate studies.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management, commercial, legal, business advisory, or a related discipline, with a track record of delivering commercial outcomes in complex environments.
  • Strong contract management capability, including the ability to independently assess, negotiate, and resolve complex commercial matters.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and analyse complex commercial and financial information to support sound decision-making.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify risks, assess impacts, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Highly organised and collaborative professional with the ability to manage competing priorities, build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, and work effectively within cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical outcomes and organisational objectives in a fast-paced environment.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
