ASC is Australia's submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats' service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation's nuclear-powered submarines, the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia's history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia's national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

SUBSAFE is one of ASC's most important assurance programs, helping ensure the safety and integrity of work performed on Australia's submarines.

As a SUBSAFE Program Improvement Technical Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening awareness, compliance and continuous improvement across ASC and our supplier network. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you'll use lessons learned, audit outcomes and operational insights to help improve performance, reduce recurring issues and support a strong safety culture.

This is an opportunity for someone with experience in quality, compliance, auditing, supplier assurance or continuous improvement who enjoys working with people, influencing outcomes and driving meaningful improvements.

No prior SUBSAFE knowledge is required. We'll provide the training and support to help you build your capability in the program.

Responsibilities

  • Build SUBSAFE awareness across ASC and our supplier network through training, engagement and practical guidance.
  • Use audit findings, non-conformances and lessons learned to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support suppliers and internal stakeholders to understand and apply SUBSAFE requirements.
  • Review and improve training materials, processes and supporting documentation.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to strengthen compliance, reduce recurring issues and improve program performance.

About You

You may come from a quality, compliance, auditing, supplier assurance or continuous improvement background and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your impact in a highly regulated environment.

You will bring:

  • Experience in quality, compliance, auditing, assurance or continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders.
  • A practical approach to problem solving and driving improvements from findings and lessons learned.
  • A genuine commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
