About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Communications Manager - Corporate, the Communications Advisor - Social/Digital plays a key role within the Corporate Affairs Team, leading the development and delivery of the organisation’s social and digital media strategy.

The role is responsible for managing the social and digital content calendar, creating engaging, high-quality content, and maintaining the organisation’s digital presence across social media channels and the website. This includes overseeing paid digital campaigns, such as Google Ads and social media advertising, and managing day-to-day activity across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

Based at ASC in South Australia, the Communications Advisor – Social/Digital will work closely with the broader Corporate Affairs team, internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver effective digital communications across external channels.

The role operates in a dynamic environment and requires strong writing, editing and content development skills, together with the ability to manage competing priorities, engage diverse stakeholders and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.

This is a full-time 12-month contract opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute ASC’s social and digital media strategy, including the planning and management of the content calendar.
  • Create and deliver high-quality, engaging content across ASC’s social media channels and website.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of ASC’s social media channels, including community engagement, moderation and audience growth initiatives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify, develop and deliver social and digital content, particularly across key business areas such as Internal Communications, Recruitment and Supply Chain.
  • Oversee ASC’s paid digital advertising, including Google Ads and social media advertising, and monitor performance through analytics and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships within the Corporate Affairs team, contributing to a collaborative, high-performing and positive team.
  • Monitor social and digital media trends, emerging platforms and best practices to continually enhance ASC’s digital presence and performance.
  • Ensure all social and digital communications comply with Defence requirements and ASC’s policies relating to Intellectual Property, security and risk management and governance.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of strong digital communication expertise, creativity and strategic thinking, along with a passion for creating engaging content and building online audiences.

  • A bachelor’s degree qualification in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a social and digital media role, with demonstrated success managing social media channels and digital content strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and story-telling skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content from concept to delivery, including written content, photography, video and visual assets such as infographics.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social and digital media for a complex organisation, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing content creation, campaign delivery and audience engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, digital trends, paid advertising, and content best practice.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the initiative to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute positively to the broader Corporate Affairs team.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
