ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. About the Opportunities

We're expanding our Cyber Security team and have two Senior Analyst opportunities available, each offering a distinct pathway within our cyber capability.

While both opportunities sit within the Senior Analyst framework, each offers a unique focus area and career pathway:

 

Cyber Security Operations

Support and strengthen ASC's day-to-day cyber security operations capability, with a focus on threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and operational security monitoring. This role combines technical expertise, process improvement and team mentoring to enhance ASC's cyber security maturity, resilience and ability to respond to emerging threats.

  • Leads day-to-day security operations activities.
  • Focuses on security monitoring, incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management and operational cyber defence.
  • Provides technical leadership while helping develop operational processes, playbooks and team capability.
  • Supports threat hunting activities and drives continuous improvement across security operations processes.
  • Works closely with stakeholders across the business to manage cyber risks and strengthen ASC's security posture.

 

Cyber Security Engineering

Drive the continuous improvement of ASC's cyber security capability, with a focus on security tooling, detection engineering, automation and platform optimisation. This role works closely with Operations teams to enhance threat detection and response capabilities, while delivering technical improvements that strengthen ASC's overall security posture and cyber resilience.

  • Leads the engineering and continuous improvement of ASC's cyber security capability.
  • Focuses on security tooling, detection engineering, automation, platform optimisation and security uplift initiatives.
  • Drives technical innovation and works closely with operations teams to strengthen detection and response capabilities.
  • Develops and improves security detections, use cases and engineering standards.
  • Leads security improvement programs and helps shape the future direction of ASC's cyber security technology landscape.
  • Mentors' engineers and contributes to the development of scalable, sustainable cyber security solutions.

Both opportunities provide the chance to work in a complex Defence environment, contribute to the protection of critical systems, and help shape the future direction of ASC's cyber security capability.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
