About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of IT, Multiclass Sustainment, the Digital Tools and Support Technologies Manager is responsible for leading a group of professional staff, including Engineers, Technical Officers and Administrators, undertaking their duties in accordance with the MCS IT Management Plan. The role functionally oversees and coordinates activities within the team in line with scope agreed with CCSM, Virginia Class Sustainment (VCS), transformation projects and other direct customers, as appropriate to contracted requirements. Based at Osborne, you will be accountable for ensuring digital tools and support technologies are effectively delivered and supported to meet operational and strategic business requirements. 
 

What you'll be doing

  • Act as an Intelligent Customer to support the sourcing, implementation and ongoing maintenance of digital tools, infrastructure and services, with a particular focus on design technologies.
  • Facilitate collaboration between business units, Corporate IT and other stakeholders to support operational priorities, strategic objectives and program delivery.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to support digital engineering initiatives, technology roadmaps and business improvement activities.
  • Guide business units in process development, training and change adoption to maximise the effective use of digital tools and technologies.
  • Support ASC's alignment with Commonwealth of Australia Defence digital engineering strategies, policies and practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the Digital Tools team, ensuring health and safety responsibilities are understood and upheld.

 

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing technical teams within a complex engineering, operational or project environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital engineering, design technologies and enterprise digital tools, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) systems.
  • Experience working within maritime, naval, defence, sustainment or similarly complex environments, with an understanding of stakeholder and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and engage effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities, drive continuous improvement and deliver outcomes through collaboration and effective leadership.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance up to NV2 and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
