ASC is Australia’s submarine company. About the Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist to lead the design, development, and implementation of our national DEI Strategy and Plan. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to apply a DEI lens to all aspects of the employee experience, ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements, and driving meaningful progress in alignment with our business values and strategy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a national DEI Strategy and 3-year Action Plan, breaking it down into annual action plans.
  • Review and lead DEI governance in collaboration with the People Experience Manager.
  • Project manage public DEI commitments, including Reconciliation Action Plan and Disability Inclusion and Access Plan.
  • Review, develop, and implement organisational policies and procedures with a DEI lens.
  • Establish and leverage strong relationships with stakeholders to promote an inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with People and Culture functions to embed DEI principles into the employee lifecycle.
  • Liaise with external organisations and internal stakeholders to enhance partnerships and drive DEI initiatives.
  • Develop communication strategies to raise awareness of DEI efforts and celebrate diversity achievements.
  • Act as an expert advocate, educating stakeholders to create a more inclusive experience.

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology, or a relevant field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development and implementation of DEI plans and initiatives (e.g., RAPs, Gender, Disability Inclusion and Access Plan, LGBTQI+).
  • Ability to interpret diversity-related data and legislation into actionable insights.
  • Proven capacity to influence change in a large and complex organisation, experience with stakeholder management is essential.
  • Effective engagement and collaboration with minority groups, offering genuine allyship.
  • Up to date with current DEI developments and able to draw insights from them.
  • Ability to work strategically and hands-on to design and implement solutions.
  • Experienced in developing reports and business cases at Board and Executive level to report on DEI progress and achievements

 

 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
