ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.
Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.
About the Opportunity
As the Emergency Response Group (ERG) Manager, you will support the Head of WHSE Multi Class Sustainment / Life of Type Extension Programs and lead the ERG Team to deliver effective emergency management response across ASC. You will provide leadership and direction to ensure the team’s work aligns with WHSE strategic objectives, legislation, and relevant standards.
This role involves actively engaging with the ERG Team and key stakeholders to identify risks, drive improvements, and advocate for emergency management initiatives. You’ll also oversee the development of the ERG Team and the broader workforce—supporting wardens, committees, and other emergency roles to maintain fit for purpose preparedness and response capability.
The Collins Class submarine fleet’s Life of Type Extension (LOTE) will provide the nation with submarine capability into the 2030’s. The Collins boats are internationally regarded among the best conventional submarines in the world. The project is currently in the detailed design phase and ASC is working closely with its stakeholders to deliver the Navy’s specific requirements.
