About the Opportunity 

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a permanent Governance Technical Writer to help shape the documentation that supports Australia's submarine programs. 

As ASC evolves to support multiple submarine programs, we need a skilled technical writer who can transform complex technical, governance and business requirements into clear, structured and practical documentation. 

This is not a marketing, communications or copywriting role. 

Working closely with engineers, technical specialists and subject matter experts, you will develop and maintain policies, standards, procedures, work instructions and guidance material that support critical business operations. 

What you'll be doing 

• Develop and maintain governance, process and technical documentation. 

• Work with subject matter experts to capture, analyse and document complex information. 

• Review documentation for clarity, consistency, accuracy and usability. 

• Maintain alignment across documents and identify gaps, overlaps and inconsistencies. 

• Support the continuous improvement of documentation standards, templates and practices. 

About you 

• You have worked as a Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, Quality Advisor, Process Writer or similar role. 

• Experience developing technical, process, standards or governance documentation. 

• Strong Microsoft 365 skills

• The ability to simplify complex information into clear, practical and user-friendly documentation. 

• Experience within engineering, defence, maritime, resources, infrastructure, heavy industries or other highly regulated environments will be highly regarded. 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on your ability to obtain and maintain such clearance.
