ASC is Australia’s Submarine Company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension (LOTE) to increase the boats’ service lives. About the Opportunity

Working in an experienced team of project delivery professionals, the Lead Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, progressing and reporting on assigned Project Schedules, in addition to leading project schedulers in their development, maintenance and integration of subordinate project schedules in support of the Contract Master Schedule (CMS). The Role will also assist the Schedule Manager to administer the Scheduling software and develop and enforce the use of scheduling processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining, progressing and reporting on assigned project schedules, and ensuring their ability to integrate with the CMS.
  • Provide scheduling oversight of subordinate project schedules.
  • Schedule Risk Analysis and Scenario Planning for assigned project schedules
  • Assist to improve project scheduling processes and procedures and ensure they are adhered to across all schedules.
  • Provide leadership support, guidance and mentoring to assigned project schedulers.
  • Provide scheduling advice as required within the PM&I team and to related projects and Project Managers.
  • Measure and report compliance to schedule and management of all project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the cross functional project team to maintain quality assurance for all activities.

About You

  • Technical qualification in a relevant Engineering / trade discipline or proven ability as a scheduler in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience in developing and maintaining program and project schedules within a complex project environment, preferably in Defence, Shipbuilding and/or heavy industry.
  • Advanced skills in Primavera P6 and Excel.
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex issues both verbally and in writing with a wide range of personnel and stakeholders across multiple levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead schedulers in a team environment that is both local and international.
  • Supports and leads continuous improvement via project lessons learned.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
