About the Opportunity

The Lead Technical Officer – Fixed Equipment will assist the Operations Team in identifying and procuring commercially available standard fixed equipment required for building the SSN AUKUS at the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard in Osborne.

 

The role will support research activities, develop basic performance specifications, and work with procurement teams to facilitate procurement activities.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and procuring commercially available fixed equipment for the SSN AUKUS Build Program.
  • Develop basic performance specifications and maintain accurate equipment documentation.
  • Work with procurement teams to facilitate timely procurement activities.
  • Execute assurance for the delivery of fixed standard equipment and consumables, including commissioning and training.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Integrate security, safety, and ICT requirements into processes and documentation.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to stakeholders.

 

About You

  • Trade Certificate in a relevant discipline or relevant manufacturing/production experience.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with equipment and tooling within the industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Basic MS Office skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Teamwork and experience working in and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective reporting and communication skills.
  • Decision-making ability and leadership skills.
  • Professional and constructive engagement with all stakeholders.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

 

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
