ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

The Nuclear Support Manager will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive management arrangement processes and procedures that support nuclear safety are in place and satisfy the Australian regulatory conditions. The Nuclear Support Manager will lead a small cohort of multi-discipline engineers to either create compliant documentation within NCD that satisfies the requirements of regulation and licencing or, as appropriate, co-ordinate and manage the development of requisite documentation by internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) or external specialists and sub-contractors.

The Nuclear Support Manager will continually engage with all appropriate ASC governance and quality forums to assure compliance through the ongoing maintenance of ASC’s processes and nuclear arrangements.

The Nuclear Support Manager will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Operations, Quality, RADCON and Nuclear Governance and Assurance to support ASCs evolution into an intelligent user and customer. The position will evaluate the impact of ongoing regulation and the needs of the program on authorisation, the business’ social licence and the health and safety of its workforce and the general public.
