ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the GM Transformation Office, the Principal Program Manager will lead one of ASC's most significant enterprise transformation programs, shaping the future of our corporate services and workforce capability.

This role is responsible for driving large-scale strategic change, delivering initiatives that improve how ASC operates today while building capability for the future. Working across business and digital transformation programs, including the implementation of new enterprise platforms and technology-enabled ways of working, you will ensure outcomes are embedded, sustainable and aligned to ASC's strategic objectives.

Operating at both a strategic and hands-on delivery level, you will provide leadership across complex, cross-functional programs, establish governance and performance frameworks, and guide teams through evolving priorities and ambiguity. Exceptional stakeholder engagement, adaptability and transformation leadership will be critical as you translate strategy into action and deliver meaningful enterprise-wide outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale enterprise transformation programs that align with ASC's strategic objectives.
  • Drive complex initiatives across workforce and people transformation, finance, corporate services, processes, and data reporting.
  • Establish and oversee program governance, performance, risk and benefits realisation frameworks.
  • Influence senior leaders and executive stakeholders to shape strategic priorities, secure alignment and drive decision-making.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and delivery partners to successfully execute complex programs of work.
  • Navigate ambiguity and evolving priorities, translating strategic intent into actionable outcomes and measurable results.
  • Monitor program performance, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure sustainable adoption of transformation outcomes.

About you

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-wide transformation programs within complex organisational environments.
  • Strong background in Program Management, Portfolio Management, Transformation Leadership or Program Director-level roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic outcomes in ambiguous environments where priorities and end-state requirements evolve over time.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience working across all organisational levels, including executive and board-facing environments.
  • Deep understanding of program governance, benefits realisation, risk management and performance frameworks.
  • A resilient, adaptable and highly self-directed leader who can create clarity, momentum and structure in uncertain environments.
  • Strong people leadership capability, with experience building high-performing teams and guiding organisations through significant change.
  • Experience delivering business-led digital transformation programs, such as HRIS, ERP, enterprise data, reporting or process modernisation initiatives, will be highly regarded.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
