About the Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager Program Delivery – SSN AUKUS, the Program Development Manager leads and delivers key program development activities to support major milestones, including planning, scheduling, workforce profiling, and cost estimation. The role provides strategic leadership across teams and partners, enterprise-wide and senior stakeholder alignment, ensuring alignment with program objectives, long-term success, and contractual deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of program scope, schedule, resourcing and cost estimates (including WBS and master schedule) aligned to SSN AUKUS objectives
  • Coordinate and deliver key program artefacts across future program phases, ensuring alignment to program strategy, milestones and contractual deliverables
  • Collaborate with domestic and international industry partners, joint partners and customer representatives across time zones
  • Drive stakeholder alignment, including senior stakeholders (ASA, ASC, BAE), and communicate program plans, priorities, risks and progress
  • Provide leadership to project teams, setting clear expectations, guiding performance and enabling accountability for outcomes
  • Mentor and develop project management capability across the program team while supporting a high-performance culture
  • Contribute to strategic planning by identifying risks, opportunities and long-term considerations to support ongoing business success

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical, business or project management discipline or equivalent experience in a naval construction or complex asset management / development environment.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Program Management, PMO, Project Controls, and Planning/Scheduling with a strong delivery track record
  • Proven capability in program planning, including scenario modelling, risk analysis, and strategic alignment
  • Strong understanding of program and project strategy development aligned to organisational objectives
  • Experience interpreting and implementing contractual delivery models in line with requirements
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and communicate across organisations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to lead, manage and develop high-performing teams
  • Solid knowledge and practical application of PMBOK methodologies and best practices, in addition to Primavera P6 Professional Fundamentals, or equivalent.

A degree of flexibility is required in working hours, to support engagements with colleagues in other time zones. This role may also require periodic or regular overseas travel.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
