About the Opportunity 

ASC is committed to continuously enhancing our organisational capabilities, particularly in supporting Submarine Build and Sustainment programs of work.

As the Program Security Manager, reporting to the Chief Security Officer you will be responsible for effective and compliant operation, implementation, rectification and management of all processes, systems and any measures concerning security.

Responsibilities 

  • Provide leadership pertaining to safety for security related staff under their remit.
  • Provide the required governance to ensure security is compliant with the DSPF, PSPF, ISM, ASC CMS security documents, contractual obligations and all DISP membership requirements.
  • Ensuring that all personnel, including contractors, maintain the required security competencies and AGSVA Security clearances where required.
  • Assess, authorise and arrange sponsorship for all positions that require security clearances to conduct their duties.
  • Provide guidance and management in all instances of security threats to the business from Trusted Insiders, Foreign Intelligence Services, Criminal Elements, Maverick Individuals, Issue Motivated Groups.
  • Direct and manage the implementation of a forward leaning and enduring security culture that addresses key National Security threats and risks.
  • Identify and engage with internal / external stakeholders to identify any lapse in Physical / Personnel / Governance / Cyber security and coordinate rectification to align with Defence Industry Security Program requirements.
  • Ability to provide 24/7 expert level security advice to the business.

About you  

  • Minimum level of Diploma in Security Risk Management or demonstrated experience and ability to obtain this qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven background in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Sufficient security expertise and knowledge to direct, manage and develop security staff, procedures and processes.
  • Experience in site Physical, Personnel, Governance and Information/Cyber security in a relevant DISP company or Defense role and significant administrative experience in an Australian Defense Security area.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage task prioritisation.
  • Ability to rectify security issues that arise from external entities that significantly affect either the business or boat schedule and de-conflict to ensure business continuity is maintained.

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals. 

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
