About the Opportunity 

Reporting to the Project Manager - SSN, the Project Coordinator will support the development, planning, execution and close out of projects to support the SSN Sustainment Production Environment.

This may include managing the planning, execution and closeout of minor projects or elements of projects and supporting the planning, execution and closeout projects, including fabrication projects, vessel maintenance and sustainment projects and any other associated projects;

 

Responsibilities 

• Support the Planning and execution of the SSN Sustainment Production Environment.

• Project risk and opportunity reviews, with the development and proactive management of risk mitigation / opportunity realisation strategies.

• Daily liaison with SSN Sustainment Team and wider support departments, such as Global mobility, People & Culture, Commercial, Procurement, Nuclear Capability, Information Technology, Quality, Safety, Transfer of Technology and Finance.

• Preparation and collation of reports in accordance with project requirements.

• Support the project in accordance with the relevant safety, quality and technical requirements and that corrective action is instigated and completed in the event of a breach of these requirements. 

 

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline or equivalent experience in a systems engineering, naval construction, civil construction or complex asset management / development environment.
  • Effective relationship building and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Technical trade background (mechanical, electrical, fabrication, civil construction or related).
  • Knowledge of project governance/ controls and record keeping practices.
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract management functions.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and Financial Budget management.
  • Advanced Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
