About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping ASC’s long‑term strategic direction. As a Strategy Analyst, you’ll support key strategic projects by helping with strategic research, modelling, benchmarking and stakeholder engagement to ensure ASC remains aligned to defence priorities. Working within the Corporate Strategy team, you will have the opportunity to work across ASCs broader portfolio inclusive of Collins, AUKUS Build, SSN Sustainment and scaling Australia’s Submarine Industry Base. To help drive insight generation, improve strategic foresight, and strengthen the execution of ASC’s strategic framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support long‑term strategic planning through structured research, analysis, benchmarking and modelling.
  • Conduct scenario modelling, options analysis and gap assessments to inform strategic decision‑making.
  • Monitor and interpret defence, industry and the external environment to support strategic foresight and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in developing and refining ASC’s strategic frameworks, plans, reports and executive‑level content.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organisation to align strategic initiatives with operational needs.
  • Contribute to special strategic projects by providing agile analysis, rapid problem‑solving and clear insights.
  • Support the translation of strategic priorities into practical business objectives and recommendations.

About you 

  • Tertiary level qualification in Business, Defence Studies, Strategy, Transformation, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experienced in strategic analysis, research or planning within complex organisations within the Defence sector, relatable fields such as government and consulting or larger transformational programs.
  • Able to translate complex concepts into clear, concise insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Skilled in structured problem‑solving, benchmarking and scenario analysis.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous and fast‑paced contexts with shifting priorities.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
