About the Opportunity

Are you ready to shape the future of Australia’s sovereign submarine capability? ASC is seeking a strategic and experienced Supply Chain Industrial Development Manager to lead the development and implementation of supplier qualification programs aligned with the AUKUS partnership and the Submarine Industrial Strategy. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of defence industry transformation, collaborating with international partners and leading a high-performing team to deliver long-term national outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the Virginia Class Sustainment supplier qualification strategy in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain integrated planning frameworks to prioritise and govern Defence Industry Vendor Qualification initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice to executive leadership on supplier qualification and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with business and national objectives.
  • Manage resources effectively across strategic initiatives to optimise impact and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in supplier qualification.
  • Contribute to the broader supply chain strategy as a member of the Supply Chain Capability Leadership Team.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, engineering, business, commerce or a related field. (Project Management qualifications are highly desirable)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering quality, supplier qualification or business leadership.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian defence industry and government initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse, high-performing teams in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, supplier qualification, and risk management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in defence, shipbuilding, or heavy industry is highly desirable.

 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
