ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for a strategic leader who can bridge the gap between external expertise and long-term organisational capability.

As the Consulting Value Realisation Lead, you'll lead ASC's enterprise approach to consulting governance, assurance and capability development. You'll work with business leaders to ensure consulting engagements deliver measurable outcomes, transfer critical knowledge and build internal capability, helping ASC become stronger and less reliant on external support over time.

If you're passionate about organisational improvement, stakeholder engagement, governance and driving value from strategic initiatives, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact across the enterprise.

This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously enhance ASC's Consulting Value Realisation (CVR) function, driving enterprise-wide capability and impact.
  • Develop and implement frameworks, governance and assurance practices that maximise value from consulting engagements.
  • Build, mentor and lead a high-performing team that delivers strategic support across the business.
  • Partner with business leaders and Procurement to strengthen consulting engagement planning, delivery and outcomes.
  • Drive knowledge transfer, organisational learning and capability development to reduce reliance on external providers.
  • Monitor, measure and report on consulting engagement performance, value realisation and capability uplift.
  • Provide trusted advice, assurance and recommendations to senior stakeholders on consulting value and organisational capability.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing across ASC.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Management, Organisational Development, Change Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience leading business transformation, organisational improvement, governance or capability initiatives within complex organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and enhance frameworks, operating models, governance or assurance practices.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience building, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker who can translate organisational objectives into practical, scalable and sustainable outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility across all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and problem-solving capabilities, supported by sound judgement and decision-making.
  • Experience in consulting, advisory, transformation, capability development or complex environments such as Defence, infrastructure, engineering or government will be highly regarded.

This role would be well suited to a leader from a consulting, business transformation, organisational capability, governance, continuous improvement or strategic advisory background who is passionate about turning external expertise into lasting organisational capability and measurable business outcomes.
