Role Overview
The Candidate Management Advisor (CMA) plays a critical role in supporting ASC’s International Deployments Program. As part of the International Deployments recruitment team, the CMA works alongside other Candidate Management Advisors and the Recruitment Manager for International Deployments to deliver a seamless, high-quality candidate experience across the full recruitment lifecycle.

This role focuses on candidate engagement, behavioural-based assessment support, talent pooling, and consistent communication throughout the recruitment journey. The CMA ensures that candidates feel informed, respected, and supported at every stage, helping ASC attract and secure specialised skills to support international deployment opportunities and strategic workforce requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The CMA supports the planning, coordination, and execution of recruitment activities for ASC’s International Deployments Program, with a strong emphasis on candidate experience, communication, and behavioural-based recruitment practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the end-to-end candidate lifecycle, ensuring all candidates receive a smooth, timely, and personalised recruitment experience regardless of outcome.
  • Partner closely with the Recruitment Manager for International Deployments and fellow Candidate Management Advisors to coordinate recruitment activities, understand campaign requirements, and deliver aligned candidate management strategies.
  • Support sourcing activities by building and maintaining high-quality talent pools for critical international deployment roles, including hard-to-fill and high-volume skill sets.
  • Facilitate behavioural competency-based interview processes, attending interviews where possible to ensure fairness, consistency, and adherence to ASC’s competency framework.
  • Coordinate and complete all required pre-employment screening and assessment activities, ensuring candidates meet organisational and deployment-related requirements before progressing to offer.
  • Maintain accurate candidate data and process documentation in PageUp, ensuring all interactions and status changes are captured for traceability, reporting, and analytics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across recruitment operations, recommending opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the candidate experience.
  • Support workforce planning activities by maintaining talent pipelines and identifying opportunities to engage prospective candidates for future deployment requirements.

About You

  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR support roles, ideally within a complex, technical, defence, engineering, or project-based environment.
  • Strong talent management and candidate engagement experience, with the ability to manage high-volume activity without compromising candidate quality or communication.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment technologies is desirable, particularly PageUp and/or Workday.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse candidate population.
  • High attention to detail, strong documentation discipline, and a commitment to process consistency.
  • A friendly, approachable manner combined with professional judgement and discretion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and adapt to ASC’s culture and ways of working.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
