About the Opportunity
Join a pioneering organisation at the forefront of Australia’s defence capability as a Cyber Security Analyst supporting the Australian Shipbuilder, a joint venture between ASC and BAE. In this role, you will help shape and secure critical Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments underpinning the delivery of Australia’s SSN AUKUS submarines. Working closely with the Cyber Security Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening cyber resilience through security operations, risk management, and engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
· Design, implement, and continuously improve cyber security controls across IT and OT environments
· Support security operations, including incident detection, response, and recovery activities
· Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and vulnerability identification across complex network environments
· Contribute to cyber security governance, assurance, and compliance with Defence frameworks (ISM, PSPF, DSPF)
· Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver secure and practical technology solutions
· Assist in the development and enhancement of security architecture, including cloud, IoT, and mobile environments
· Monitor emerging threats and recommend proactive measures aligned with industry best practices
About you
· Proven experience in a cyber security role within complex or regulated environments
· Strong understanding of cyber security risk management, compliance frameworks, and audit processes
· Knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS) and/or OT security
· Relevant qualifications in IT/OT or equivalent experience, with certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC highly regarded
· Experience with cloud, IoT, or mobile security technologies and practices
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into operational outcomes
· Highly organised, adaptable, and committed to staying current with evolving cyber threats and industry trends
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV2 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
