About the Opportunity 

Based in South Australia, this role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering Sub Sustainment Nuclear (SSN) AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. The Cyber Security Architect will play a key role in the establishment of the Australian Shipbuilder (joint venture between ASC and BAE), that will eventually build Australia’s SSN-AUKUS submarines. The role will define and assess ASC’s security strategy, architecture, and practices, translating business objectives and risk management strategies into specific security processes enabled by security technologies and services. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain a robust and scalable cybersecurity architecture that aligns with the organisation's business goals and objectives. 
• Implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to safeguard the organisation's data, networks, and systems for both Information and Operational Technology. 
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement security technologies and tools to enhance the organisation's security infrastructure. 
• Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and regulations, such as ISM, IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001, and others. 
• Conduct threat-modelling exercises on new applications and services. 
• Manage security infrastructure such as firewalls, IPSs, WAFs, endpoint protection, SIEM, and log management technology. 
• Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices. 

About You 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance. Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
