About the Opportunity 

We are seeking multiple experienced engineers to join ASC Technical Governance & Assurance - Facilities team as either a Governance Engineer or a Design Requirements Engineer. These roles play a critical part in ensuring ASC's facilities, infrastructure, equipment and engineering activities are governed by robust technical standards, requirements and assurance processes that support Australia's conventional and future nuclear-powered submarine programs. 

Working across a diverse portfolio of facilities and infrastructure assets, you will help develop and maintain engineering governance frameworks, technical standards and design requirements that support safe, compliant and effective operations. You will collaborate with engineering, project, operations and maintenance teams to ensure facilities and infrastructure solutions meet regulatory obligations, operational needs and long-term business objectives. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve engineering governance frameworks, standards, policies and procedures. 

  • Support the development and management of facilities design requirements and engineering governance documentation. 

  • Provide technical advice and governance support to facilities, infrastructure and engineering stakeholders. 

  • Interpret and apply legislative, regulatory and technical requirements across facilities and infrastructure projects. 

  • Conduct assurance activities, audits, reviews and investigations to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities. 

  • Support risk identification, assessment and mitigation activities relating to facilities and technical governance. 

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, technical authorities and project teams. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance governance maturity, compliance and engineering performance. 

  • Support the delivery of infrastructure and facilities programs through effective governance, assurance and technical oversight 

About you  

  • Degree qualified engineer with relevant industry experience. 

  • Significant experience within complex, high-risk and highly regulated industries such as defence, maritime, infrastructure, energy, mining, oil and gas or heavy industry. 

  • Experience developing, implementing or applying engineering standards, governance frameworks, technical requirements or assurance processes. 

  • Strong understanding of engineering governance, compliance, risk management and regulatory requirements. 

  • Experience working with facilities, infrastructure or industrial assets such as cranes and lifting equipment, pressure vessels, fire systems, electrical systems, fuel systems or complex industrial facilities is highly regarded. 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence across diverse technical and operational teams. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical outcomes. 

  • Analytical, solutions-focused and comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities. 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
