About the Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager Capability, the Head of Operations is accountable for leading the development and subsequent management of operational, production, and capability requirements and resources in support of the SSN-AUKUS Program,

The Head of Operations maintains a strategic perspective on the entire business, considering long-term issues, opportunities, and risks to ensure ongoing business success. The incumbent will provide leadership to team members, offering direction and setting attainable yet challenging performance targets.


Responsibilities

  • Establish robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders r to execute SSN AUKUS work scopes.
  • Align activities with ASC’s strategy and assist in meeting relevant contractual deliverables.
  • Maintain a strategic perspective on the entire business, considering long-term issues, opportunities, and risks.
  • Provide leadership to team members, ensuring direction and setting challenging performance targets.
  • Be prepared for periodic or regular overseas travel.


About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 15 years' work experience in a submarine or naval ship construction/build environment, managing the execution of operational activities.
  • Demonstrable skill and experience in leading the development of the submarine or naval ship production capability workforce.
  • Ability to develop and deploy the overall Operations Group strategy, plans, and procedures for the shipyard.


Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
