About the Opportunity

Based in Perth and reporting to the General Manager - Capability Development, the Head of Training Delivery is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic leadership and governance for ASC’s technical training portfolio that builds Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP).

This position will work with Learning and Development, Program Operations and Production teams and have a team of Trainers to deliver training of strategic significance, provide advice to senior leaders, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to inform the development and implementation of ASC Training and Trainer strategy.

The role will initially lead a team of two to four direct reports and a team of 40 indirect reports and the dimensions of this team will grow significantly over time. The successful candidate must therefore demonstrate prior senior leadership in a role that was responsible for leading large scale growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training plans to build and sustain SQEP across career pathways.
  • Lead the delivery of training and contribute to curriculum design, digital learning, competency frameworks and training assurance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of training programs that support submarine maintenance and sustainment.
  • Oversee trainer and training resource allocation, tracking and reporting across programs.
  • Oversee the delivery of training through multiple modalities, including classroom, simulator, workplace and blended learning, while ensuring high standards of quality, safety and effectiveness.
  • Manage training budgets, resources and risks, drive innovation in training technologies and methods to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Engage senior stakeholders to align planning with strategic objectives.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high performing training team and foster a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with ASC values and code of conduct.
  • Support broader workforce development initiatives. 

 About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education, Training, Engineering or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Training Certificate in TAE 40110 or higher.
  • Proven leadership of large-scale training portfolios of strategic or political significance and preferable with an applied engineering focus.
  • Advanced communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex training delivery and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at all levels of a large multi-site organisation.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
