About the Opportunity

The ICT Manager, Operations & Service Delivery is responsible for overseeing the IT operations and service delivery functions within the organisation. This role ensures the effective and efficient delivery of IT services to support the building and sustainment of defence submarines. The manager will lead a team of IT professionals, manage service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols.

This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. The ICT Manager, Operations & Service Delivery will manage IT operations and service delivery, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth operation of IT systems, manage infrastructure, and oversee network security obligations.
  • Identify and manage resources needed for budgeting, planning, and delivering technology services and systems.
  • Continually improve people, tools, and processes to optimize value delivery streams.
  • Manage service desk operations, ensure timely resolution of IT issues, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor the IT team, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, other relevant field, and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT operations and service delivery, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
  • Significant experience in IT leadership roles and fostering DevSecOps culture.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks and project management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of defence industry standards and regulations.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
