About the Opportunity

This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. Join us in a pivotal role as we establish the Australian Shipbuilder, a joint venture between ASC and BAE, which will eventually construct Australia’s SSN-AUKUS submarines. As the Information Management Officer, you will collaborate with the business to achieve company objectives in a compliant manner. Your focus will be on developing and managing strategies and processes to identify and mitigate risks associated with information sharing while supporting development of a strong information governance framework.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with data and information management regulatory practice
  • Managing information assets that include aligning with security controls, Intellectual Property, Technology Controls and other requirements
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance while providing advice on best practices
  • Draft and develop policy, implement procedures and best practices, create and deliver training materials and maintain Information Governance systems and frameworks
  • Operate in a dynamic, and highly regulated environment, balancing structure, discipline, and flexibility to meet strategic needs

 

About you 

  • Hold a qualification in Information and/or Records Management or significant business experience in large complex organisations
  • Demonstrated prior experience in managing information, records management, project management, data governance, information security and compliance, or a similar within a highly regulated organisation
  • Knowledge of government legislation, regulatory practice, including frameworks, standards, and policies, and their application
  • Sound research and analytical skills combined with critical thinking to address emerging project and information management challenges to initiate and drive change
  • Excellent verbal communication and written language skills with proven ability to write reports with recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and responsiveness

 

Please note: Availability for collaboration calls outside normal working hours (UK timezone) is required. Periodic domestic and international travel may also be required.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
