About the Opportunity

SSN AUKUS Submarine Construction Yard (SCY) – Infrastructure Engineer – Sitewide Services, ICT and Security. Delivery of the Infrastructure Functional Requirements (IFR) and completing assurance activities against the IFR for Sitewide Services, ICT and Security for the SSN-AUKUS Submarine Construction Yard.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver functional requirements for site services, ICT, and security under the direction and guidance of a Senior ICT/Security Engineer.
  • Collaborate on project schedules, project reporting and assurance activities.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to manage requirements and documentation.
  • Engage with stakeholders to translate operational needs into infrastructure solutions.
  • Support the integration and validation of infrastructure systems (including cabling, communications networks, and associated technologies) using tools such as AutoCAD and DOORS.
  • Prepare technical documentation and contribute to the efficient delivery of project scope.
  • Conduct design reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Provide practical technical advice that balances capability, cost, and risk.
  • Contribute to ICT and security outcomes, recognising that security overlays core communications and network infrastructure.
  • Support Senior Infrastructure Engineers with the development and maintenance of site wide documentation.

About you 

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Instrumentation, Communications, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience in project engineering / management on complex infrastructure programs
  • Experience working in the industrial manufacturing industry on technical specifications and/or compliance
  • Background in site services, with exposure to cabling, phone systems, and network infrastructure (ICT/security experience is advantageous but not essential).
  • Specific experience within the Defence Shipbuilding Industry will be highly regarded
  • Experience project managing infrastructure/equipment design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and/or commissioning work
  • Experience working within a team of technical personnel in complex and unique industrial environments
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and ‘requirements management’ principles

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
