About the Opportunity

As the Instructional Design Lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering ASC’s L&D strategy by leading a team of instructional designers to create high-quality, bespoke training programs. This is a strategic and hands-on role that partners across the business to support workforce capability and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of technical training programs aligned with strategic workforce plans.
  • Manage a team of instructional designers and oversee courseware development.
  • Collaborate with Program and Capability Leads to deliver tailored L&D solutions including eLearning, face-to-face programs, and competency frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, report on progress, and manage scope against priorities.
  • Design and implement On-Boat and Off-Boat technical programs.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across L&D initiatives by working closely with other L&D leads.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean process development within the People & Culture team

 

About you 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Learning, Instructional Design, HR, or Adult Education.
  • Proven experience in developing technical training programs and leading L&D teams.
  • Skilled in competency mapping, job role analysis, and instructional design methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation skills across various learning environments.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Innovative thinker with a collaborative mindset and high attention to detail.
  • Able to balance strategic vision with tactical execution and manage competing priorities effectively.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
