About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our team at Osborne SA, working on the SSN-AUKUS conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarine build program.
Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement, you will play a pivotal role managing internal communications and engagement requirements during the foundational stages of the newly established SSN-AUKUS program. As our Internal Communication and Engagement Specialist embedded in the program, you will help create a world-class internal communications function that builds interpersonal connectivity, deep engagement and a positive culture as the program moves towards the establishment of an integrated joint venture entity.
This role will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders within ASC’s SSN-AUKUS program and across the wider organisation, as well as external stakeholders, including joint partner BAE Systems and the Australian Submarine Agency. Please note: A degree of flexibility is required with working hours to support communications and engagement with UK-based BAE Systems personnel.
Responsibilities
• Provide internal communications and engagement advice and support to senior leaders
• Develop internal communications and plans, ensuring they are aligned to operational requirements and strategic ASC business messaging.
• Manage stakeholder engagement to ensure that all stakeholders are engaged during project implementation.
• Simplify complex operational issues and communicate efficiently with a diverse audience across multiple locations and using multiple channels.
• Support delivery of business wide projects by providing effective and engaging communications advice and support to employees and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement strategic communication project plans to deliver improvements to culture and employee engagement.
• Ensure internal communications activities occur within approved frameworks and within agreed timeframes.
About you
• Tertiary qualifications in Communications or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in complex communications roles with demonstrated experience in internal communications, employee and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated project management skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously of direction; to be proactive, innovative, and flexible; to be tolerant of change and complexity; and to work collaboratively within a cohesive team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention-to-detail.
• The capacity to work under pressure and to tight deadlines - specifically the ability to quickly produce high quality, engaging content for a range of different audiences and channels, within a constrained timeframe.
• A high level of competency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint.
• Adobe Creative Suite skills are desirable.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
