About the Opportunity

The Lead WHSE Systems and Assurance will maintain and support practical WHSE systems used across the business, provide day-to-day guidance to leaders and teams, and run assurance activities. Based in Adelaide or Perth, this may include, but is not limited to, audits, inspections and reporting to confirm work is being performed safely and in line with legal and organisational requirements.

Reporting to the Head of WHSE Corporate, you will oversee ASC’s WHSE Management System, ensuring it is usable, up to date and compliant with legislation and relevant standards. You will lead ASC’s assurance program and support leaders with the tools, processes and clarity needed to meet WHSE expectations.

This role partners across ASC to improve the maturity of WHSE systems, standardise processes, uplift capability and support-controlled system changes. It is a key leadership role embedding WHSE requirements into everyday operations across a complex, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve ASC’s WHSE Management System, ensuring alignment to legislation, standards and business requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to leaders and teams on WHSE processes, system usage, documentation and compliance expectations.
  • Lead ASC’s WHSE assurance program including audits, inspections, governance reviews and compliance monitoring.
  • Oversee WHSE reporting, dashboards and performance insights to support leadership visibility and decision making.
  • Ensure WHSE processes are standardised, practical and effectively communicated across multiple sites.
  • Manage WHSE document control requirements, including updates, authorisation pathways and structured change management.
  • Support implementation of WHSE system improvements, upgrades and digital enhancements.
  • Build WHSE capability through guidance, training support and practical system coaching.
  • Lead a high performing systems and assurance team with a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in heavy industry, defence, mining, government or complex environments. WHSE experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Skilled in data management platforms from design through to execution. Experience with WHSE management systems is desirable.
  • Strong capability in assurance activities including audits, inspections, compliance checks and governance reporting.
  • Skilled in developing or improving management systems, procedures, documentation libraries or organisational processes.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels with the ability to influence outcomes and build strong relationships.
  • Experience leading teams in a supportive, collaborative and high performing environment.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to varied audiences.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using digital platforms, data tools or system reporting.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field. WHSE-related qualifications are desirable.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a Baseline level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
