About the Opportunity

The Learning and Development Advisor provides advice and support on learning and development solutions and ensures alignment with the ASC Learning and Development strategy to allow for effective coordination of external and internal training solutions for the ASC workforce nationally.

The Learning and Development Advisor is a key role that is supportive for Planning, Analysing and implementing learning and development solutions utilising structured methodologies and compliance frameworks internally and externally ensuring alignment with ASC’s Learning and Development objectives.

The Learning and Development Advisors are responsible for the cohesive development and delivery of the learning and development functions for the ASC workforce, while consistently providing an exceptional customer service experience and is responsible for maintaining up to date, proactive knowledge on learning and development innovative best practice solutions.

ASC Learning and Development Advisors are confident communicators offering a broad in-depth knowledge of national ASC learning and development practices. Working closely with their colleagues nationally and business partners they ensure consistent communication nationally on their functional activities across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Support the training needs analyses cycle to identify and priorities departmental and individual training and development needs.
  • Collaborate with customers, and L&D specialists to create and deliver practical and relevant Technical Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Provide Program managers and individuals with advice and information relating to both corporate and individual learning and development solutions.
  • Support the L&D Specialists with analysing, designing and implementing ASC internal learning resources ensuring they are engaging, innovative and meet the needs of the business.
  • Support the L&D Specialist execution of Learning projects, this includes but is not limited to annual strategies, L&D Interventions, ad hoc requests, compliance solutions, new organisational requirements and MCS and Build initiatives as directed.     
  • Support the coordination of training delivery in accordance with established training plans and ad hoc requests to ensure ASC workforce receives required just-in-time training.  This includes seeking relevant approvals, ensuring training required fits within the training budget, course content reflects the identified training needs and communicating with external training providers to organise amendments to training content to meet business needs where appropriate.
  • Work with managers to assist them set up and effectively implement processes to ensure learnings from training programs are effectively shared within teams and wider departments where applicable.
  • Evaluate the quality and suitability of training delivery and corresponding assessment tools and practices.
  • Provide feedback to external training providers to adjust training content to meet training needs where necessary.
  • Align scheduled training activity and delivery with funding sources to minimise expenditure.

 

About you 

  • Advance Vocational or Degree Qualification in HR, Learning and Development, Adult Education, or equivalent related work experience and or 5 years of relevant experience in a similar or related role in learning or HR.
  • Previous experience in a similar role working across a multi-site multi-disciplined business, ideally with multi-national aspects.
  • Previous experience in managing L&D projects from inception to completion and continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience working within a regulated framework organization.
  • Proven understanding of contemporary and modern Learning Solutions.
  • Good understanding of L&D Systems and interfaces.
  • Sound understanding of export controls and Information related to learning and development and transfer of knowledge.
  • Experienced in handling competing priorities in a complexed multi-disciplined organisation.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
