About the Opportunity

The Maintenance Electrical Team Lead will provide both technical expertise and leadership to the Facilities Maintenance electrical trade team.

The role is responsible for planning, prioritising, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency and asset reliability. Applies strong engineering judgement and trade knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment and infrastructure issues and breakdowns. Oversees the management of stock, tooling, and consumables, ensuring availability to support ongoing maintenance requirements.

This position leads and develops Leading Hands and Tradespeople, supporting capability development, improving work practice, and ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality, safe, and efficient maintenance outcomes.

 

Responsibilities

The role operates in a complex maintenance environment requiring effective prioritisation of preventative and reactive work, balancing operational demands, safety requirements, and resource constraints.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Championing safety across all maintenance activities
  • Managing trade teams to deliver high-quality work within required timeframes
  • Utilising the CMMS (IFS) to manage work orders, track performance, and optimise workflows
  • Coordinating internal resources and external contractors
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Monitoring team performance, including work order completion rates and productivity
  • Communicating issues, risks, and improvements to Facilities Management in a timely manner
  • Managing tooling, stock and consumables to support site requirements
  • Raise purchase requisitions, CapEx and OpEx’s as required

 

About you

The role requires sound judgement, leadership capability, and the ability to balance operational delivery with long-term capability development.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Electrical A Class licence
  • High Voltage (HV) experience (desirable)
  • Cert IV in Management or relevant management qualification (desirable)

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leading and managing teams
  • Experience of infrastructure, plant, and equipment maintenance
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Sound business acumen
  • Intermediate computer skills

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
