About the Opportunity

We have permanent opportunities for Mechanical Tradespeople to support the Collins Class Submarine program. This hands-on role is suited to fitters, turners, machinists and refrigeration mechanics who enjoy practical work and solving mechanical problems.

Responsibilities

• Installation, refurbishment, planned maintenance, set-to-work and defect rectification on submarine mechanical systems
• Complete work packs and deliver tasks to engineering and safety standards
• Work within the maintenance support team to maintain support systems
• Read and interpret technical drawings
• Work safely in confined spaces and restricted areas
• Apply strong fitting, machining and maintenance skills daily

About You

• Trade certificate in fitting/turning, machining or refrigeration
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic ability
• Experience in heavy engineering, shipbuilding or repair industries
• Ability to interpret complex work scopes and work packs
• Sound communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Flexible, proactive and safety-focused

Eligibility

A current National Police Clearance and the ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
