About the Opportunity

The Multi Class Services Planning Team is a key capability area within the MCS department. The core purpose of the MCS Planning Team is to provide world class planning services and support to ASC and broader Submarine Enterprise. The Planning Team also manages external stakeholder relationships (e.g. Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, Raytheon, THALES etc) in support of Maintenance Activity work package generation, execution and coordination and associated technical information to the wider CCSM Enterprise.  

 

Responsibilities

Based on Garden Island, WA reporting to the Operational Maintenance Planning Team Lead, the Operational Maintenance Planner provides services and support to Operational Submarines and Assisted Maintenance projects in support of team commitments aligning with Operational commitments and Submarine priorities. The primary purposes of the role is to manage development and changes to the Operational and maintenance period work scopes in a compliant and accurate manner, utilising ASC corporate systems and processes.

Expectations of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination and ongoing development of Operational and Maintenance Availability Work Packages.
  • Ensure all Work Package Planning services are delivered in accordance with milestone dates (or better) and are provided in a format required by downstream customers.
  • Develop, coordinate and ensure accurate Maintenance Change Proposals and Unscheduled Corrective Maintenance tasks for allocated projects as required.
  • Continuous improvement and adherence to the Submarine Planning Corporate Management System processes, internal work instructions and other processes required by the Project Management Plan.
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to other departments pertaining to the allocated project/Maintenance Activity. Act as point of contact between the Project Team and the Planning Team for Operational and Scheduled Maintenance.

 

About you

  • Mechanical/Electrical Trade qualified or other relevant technical qualification. Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Engineering desirable.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience with work order generation, coordination and closeout within a project or planning environment.
  • Demonstrated corporate data base and ERP system knowledge and skills utilised to interrogate corporate tools and data bases in support of work package generation, execution and closeout.
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills - written, verbal, interpersonal and across multiple levels.
  • High level problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, alignment and accuracy of corporate data and information systems.

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
