About the Opportunity

The Portable Equipment Manager will be responsible for managing a team to deliver a broad variety of portable production tooling and equipment required for building the SSN AUKUS at the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) in Osborne.

  

 Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple end-user stakeholders to define the scope of portable equipment to be used across multiple trade disciplines.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Team to ensure portable equipment and consumables are procured in accordance with schedule demands, quantities, specifications and contribute to Statements of Work.
  • Work with the Asset Management Team to schedule preventative maintenance requirements
  • Track tools and equipment across the NPSCY and ensure they are safe and reliable for the end users, including coordinating maintenance activities and calibration when required
  • Manage tool stores and staff to issue, receipt and track tools
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor a small team to achieve team goals and work requirements

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or trade qualified with manufacturing industry experience
  • 10+ years’ experience working with equipment and tooling within the industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills and strong reporting ability.
  • Experience project managing equipment procurement and commissioning
  • Experience in technical governance (compliance, technical performance measurements, customer acceptance and technical risk) across multiple tasks
  • Experience managing a team of technical personnel in complex and unique industrial environments and managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Decision-making ability and leadership skills

 

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

 

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
