About the Opportunity 

The Principal Project Controls Analyst is the focal point for Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost reporting at ASC North. They are charged with day to day management of the Project Controls function across multiple projects and hold governance via delegation from the Project Controls Manager over ASC’s Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Baseline Change Management and Cost Forecasting at the Project and/or Control Account level within the Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Program.

This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Osborne, SA.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Engage with all stakeholders on EVM, Cost Forecasting and Baseline Change Management for the LOTE Program.
  • Manage the maintenance of EV and cost data in accordance with the requirements of AS4817-2006/2019 and the associated Defence supplement.
  • Manage and facilitate compliance by all relevant stakeholders to ASC-11950 Earned Value Management Plan.
  • Work collaboratively with the Scheduling, Risk, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure integrated Project Controls.
  • Analyse, consolidate and present EV Reporting at the Project level to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate monthly reviews with the PMs/CAMs to discuss EV in relation to project status of cost and schedule, risks and mitigation required to bring the project within required tolerances.
  • Oversee the cost control team to ensure the effective management of Program cost. 
  • Develop and implement Cost Control plans and procedures to monitor and manage Program Cost.

 

About you 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Commerce/Economics, Engineering and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years’ experience within Project Controls, Cost Control, Cost Estimating, Project Accounting or Project Planning/Scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing, training and mentoring staff to consistently and effectively apply the discipline of Earned Value Management (EVM) and successfully facilitate an Estimate at Complete (EAC) process.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate the effective implementation and execution of Earned Value Management principles in relation to Baseline Change Management, Variance Analysis, Earned Value Analysis and Schedule Management in accordance with AS4817-2006/2019 & Defence Supplement.
  • Demonstrated competency in interpretation of contractual terms and conditions and facilitation of the delivery of periodic deliverables in accordance with contractual reporting requirements.
  • Advanced skills and understanding of COBRA, Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint and Power BI.

 

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Check and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
