Responsibilities

Broadly, depending on your role and level of experience, you may:

  • Manage and execute sourcing activities in key categories of spend to ensure the achievement of ASC procurement strategy, business objectives and shareholder value.
  • Manage full cycle procurement activities and categories.
  • Develop, deliver and/or support business critical category strategies and related sourcing activities through proactive engagement with key business stakeholders and the external market to ensure best value for money outcomes.
  • Lead engagement with key suppliers and undertake full cycle strategic procurement activities including defining sourcing strategies, contracting strategies, schedule planning, negotiation plans, contract management plans and other procurement activities ensuring best value for money outcomes on time and on budget while managing subcontractor risk.
  • Support supply chain governance, compliance, and assurance oversight for the programs to implement and adhere to
  • Manage strategic IT procurement categories and activities as part of the Digital Transformation Project

About You

  • Relevant qualifications in commerce, law, supply chain, project management or considerable procurement experience.
  • Membership of, or eligibility for membership of, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Australia (CIPS)
  • Solid understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, contracts law, risk management and best practices.
  • Strong skills in MRP systems (IFS desirable) and Microsoft Office products
  • Possesses project management skills to manage sourcing projects to agreed timelines and budget restraints
  • Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and other business value through the development and implementation of sourcing strategy and plans.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development.
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Eligibility for Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting-Level 1

Eligibility

These roles require a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
